Upcoming Sessions
Service Description
This May workshop aims to give you the confidence to sow your own seeds and know how to look after them to produce healthy vegetables. We will sow some here that you can take home. I will focus on a selection of seasonal seeds: the big ones - from a selection including cucumbers, maincrop potatoes, courgettes, squash, all the beans, sweetcorn plus some smaller seeds suitable for sowing now. You are welcome to bring your own seed packets too. What we will cover: Which seeds to sow direct now vs sowing in containers Containers and compost How to plant out and look after your plantlets once in the ground Any questions focussing on any particular areas you want to address I will bring a tomato plant to demonstrate removing side shoots, a potato that has been chitted, and a purple basil to pinch back and propagate from. All materials such as pots, labels, seeds and compost will be provided but please bring gloves if you would like them, an apron or clothes that won't mind a bit of compost on and a medium sized box or container to bring your pots/trays home in.
