  • Successful seed sowing - flowers

This May workshop aims to give you the confidence to sow your own seeds and know how to look after them to produce beautiful flowers for your garden. We will sow some here that you can take home. I will focus on a selection of seeds suitable for sowing now, all of which are great as cut flowers. You are welcome to bring any seed packets that you have already bought and intend to sow this year. What we will cover: what containers to use what compost germination preferences like heat, light hardy vs half hardy annuals problems particularly focussing on all your current questions I will bring some 'that I sowed earlier' for you to experience pricking out seedlings so that you know what to do when yours are at the right stage. All materials such as pots, labels, seeds and compost will be provided but please bring gloves if you would like them, an apron or clothes that won't mind a bit of compost on and a medium sized box or container to bring your pots/trays home in.
